These are great photos. They really pique my imagination. How does a farmhouse become abandoned? Doesn't anyone care or mind that it's empty or that no taxes are coming in on it?

Thanks for a unique TT post!

I can only imagine the history in those places, and the spirits that rest within. Thanks for sharing.

Happy TT

They look lonely. They look like they hold a lot of beautiful memories! I hope they are still kept alive.

Interesting TT. :)

I too have a sort of sick fascination with old farm houses. I'd have to say, though, that your abandoned farm houses are way more impressive than ours. Around here they are tiny one or two roomers.

I love the photos! I'm from Kansas and we have a ton of farmhouses around here.
I love it! Have a great New Year!

These are great. I especially like the juxtaposition of the dead house and the barren tree in the second shot.

They seem to be so old and decaying...yet so very beautiful at the same time.

Those are great photos and I think farm houses are beautiful.

Wow. When we moved to Denver, there were a lot of houses like this in the surrounding areas. Over the last 10 years, they have either been moved to other locations or refurbished. Amazing structures. We have a friend who bought one for $12000 (US) and sold it this year for $395000.

Happy TT!

Those are fantastic! I'd love to know the stories those houses have to share.

Happy TT!

Thanks for stopping by Strange Attractions. You know, the abandoned buildings around here are covered with graffiti. Even the old houses. It's like traveling first class for vandals--they have protection from the elements and the prying eyes of the police!

I love your thursday thirteen. I can't imagine why these farmhouses come to be abandoned. The fun you could have doing them up. I think they also provide great inspiration for gingerbread houses. So thanks for the recipe in the previous post.

What evocative photos! An unusual choice of subject, too! (Thanks for visiting my TT)

Those are great photographs. Some of them look like the sort of places that children dare each other to go into after dark!

Such beautiful photos. And the detailing on them...I like the one with a gingerbread trim.

I love to take pictures of old building as well: "urban decay".

I have three TTs this week:

I love these images - I have seen your Flickr set - wonderful! I am also one who tries to imagine what the 'story' of one of those buildings is...

anyway tolet us know where they are?

@Anonymous - I'm careful about who I give the locations to. I don't want to see them vandalized.

Hi Im a director looking for abandoned farmhouses to shoot a short film in. Just wondering if you had any suggestions for places near the Toronto area. I love your pictures and though you might have some suggestions.
Thanks
Caley Wilson

@Caley - You didn't leave me any way to contact you. Your Blogger profile is a dead end.

I've worked with people doing film before and would do so again for someone who seems legitimate and who has a do no harm attitude when it comes to the abandoned houses and property.

Sorry I thought my E-mail would show, thanks for getting back back to me. I can send you a script I've been in the business for 15 years or more, I don't know how to prove a no harm attitude but let's talk about it.
