Dear My Funny Valentine

My Funny Valentine lyrics

My funny Valentine
Sweet comic Valentine
You make me smile with my heart

Your looks are laughable
Unphotographable
Yet you're my fav'rite work of art

Is your figure less than Greek
Is your mouth a little weak
When you open it to speak
Are you smart?

Don't change a hair for me
Not if you care for me
Stay little Valentine
Stay!
Each day is valentine's day

Valentine Daisy

I scanned the single daisy from a sales flyer in the newspaper this week. Pretty with the daisy and red heart in the centre. But the colours don't scan well from newsprint grade paper. Still, you get the idea.

The other flowers are from one of those sites sellng bouquets online. I had the link on Facebook and don't even remember the site now. Great flower combination. I really like how cheery they look.

Thursday Thirteen: Valentines Day

Thursday Thirteen: 13 Things I Would have Liked for Valentines Day

1. An actual real Valentine man, a My Funny Valentine kind of guy would be just fine.

2. A pretty locket.

3. A weekend at a bed and breakfast with my Funny Valentine.

4. A box (not massive) of Valentine chocolates, really good ones.

5. Cheesecake, really good ice cream and/ or very fresh fruit salad. (It's not all chocolate!)

6. A Valentine card, something really pink and flowery.

7. Valentine lingerie for more than full figure type. Something long and luxurious rather than skimpy.

8. A gift basket full of good things: chocolates, really nice smelling shampoo and soap, etc.

9. A car. Not that I actually expect to get something so expensive but lets just put it out there, just cause you never know...

10. A day out for fancy coffee, shopping at the bookstore, and a chick flick.

11. An evening of my Funny Valentine cooking dinner, cleaning it up and making a really good coffee for late night conversation.

12. Flowers, tulips would be nice or something fancier. Something with roots that can be planted in the garden this Spring would be great too.

13. Sex. Not average, man in charge sex, something a lot more fun for me.

Blog Talkers: Love

Blog Talkers: Talking about Love

Love. What does love mean to you? Do you feel like you have found love? Are you still looking? Do you believe in love at first sight? Why or why not? Why do you think people try so hard to find love?

Love is something you build over time and being together and caring about someone. I think there is love at first sight between family members, a new baby and parents. I don't believe that really happens between two people. It might seem that way. But love is deeper than lust or affection. I love my family, in spite of good and bad in the past. I love them for all sorts of reasons. I can be furious with them and still love them. The love is not a part of whatever is going on in the present. It's deeper. I don't understand how Mothers and daughters, sons and Fathers and sisters and brothers can not speak to each other for years over some trivial thing. It seems a very shallow and selfish and extremely silly thing to me.

I've never been in love, I thought I was. I was married and then divorced from a man who said he loved me. I met others who said the same but had no trouble leaving me over small things. Love is a word misused, abused and thrown around when a guy wants sex, not love. I want a lot more than sex. I can have sex without a man in the room. As good as I am at that you'd think I'd love myself more. I'm working on it, the loving myself part.

I do think that you have to at least be working at loving yourself before someone else can love you too. How can you trust someone who says they love you unless you see yourself as someone who can be loved?

Eartly Valentines and Candy Hearts

This was in a flyer this week. Pretty diamond daisies for a Valentine. Not that I wear jewelry, but it's pretty.

Your Candy Heart Says "First Kiss"

You're a true romantic who brings an innocent hope to each new relationship.
You see the good in every person you date, and you relish each step of falling in love.

Your ideal Valentine's Day date: a romantic dinner your sweetie cooks for you

Your flirting style: friendly and sweet

What turns you off: cynics who don't believe in romance

Why you're hot: you always keep the romance alive

Hand Drawn Valentines

150 Valentines drawn by Marian Bantjes.

For 3 years now I’ve adopted Valentine’s Day as my time to make contact with people. This year I got the crazy idea to draw each one by hand. I liked the idea that each person would get something unique, with their name on it, but that there would be a larger whole that they would also be part of.

Valentine for Mommy

Now that I have it here, ready to mail in a few days, I think this is the same card I sent her last year or the year before. Oh well, she isn't likely to be sure either. :)

Valentine Just Because I Can

I am gorging myself on Valentines Day stuff because I can. Some may think it's an obsession, so what. I'm having fun. It's about the only time of the year I feel it's ok to be girlie. Not that I go around wearing makeup and stick thin, skyscraper high heels, I just like the pretty colours and wishy washy sentiment. Romance is not dead it's just hibernating.

Now, all the women who read HappyandBlue's blog should find a decent ecard site and send him a Valentine. Mushy or friendly or humourous, just surprise the guy. Just because.

PS- John Dunford .... I definitely want an eValentine and a lengthy email from you.

Hershey's has nice Valentine epostcards.

Maxtango is a site for sharing your own designer email cards. I'm signing up just for fun but so far the sign up thing is screwing up and I can't register.

My Horoscope for VDay

For 2/14/2007

Your fabulously original approach to this day makes it fun for you and for everyone your heart touches. Conduct a little sweet flirtation. Tell 'em how you feel. Your way with words is fabulous, too.

From the EKiss site

and the Sagittarius profile-
The sign of the Archer rules the House of Philosophy, something which speaks volumes about these inquisitive, knowledge-seeking souls. Sagittarians are truth seekers, focused intensely on learning about their lover and exploring them more deeply. Truth be told, the Archer wants to explore everything deeply, so conversations in bed can run the gamut from religion to politics and which position is most comfortable. These versatile and charming folks enjoy taking a long drink from the cup of life, something which also makes them exceedingly flirtatious and great social animals. Sagittarian candor is only matched by the need for independence, a guileless raison d'etre which can be an aphrodisiac to many. The Archer loves a challenge, just the kind of thing which spices up their already hot love life.

Sagittarius
Your kisses are surprising, spontaneous affairs that leave the kissed wanting more.
