Friday Fun: The Gamer Edition

1. What was your favorite outside childhood game? Kick the Can, Ghost in the Graveyard, etc.?
2. How about board games? Do you have a favorite?
3. Do you play any PC games? Online or offline? If so, what is your favorite? If not, is there one out there you want to try?
4. Gaming stations,… there are so many out there and I know jack about them! Do you have one or more and which ones? XBox, XBox 360, Playstation, etc.?

Friday Fun: The Gamer Edition
1. Didn't really play many outside games. We did carnivals to raise money at different times of the year. Not a game but that is all I can think of as a favourite close to a game. (We did have Pull-the-String after all).

2. Scrabble is always my favourite.

3. I like city building games like Caesar, Civilization, Stronghold, Age of Empires. I also like Carmageddon and roleplaying games online.

4. I leave all the game stations to my nephew. He has a couple of them, PS2 is the only one I can remember at the moment.

Friday Fun: Clotheshound Edition

Friday Fun-
1. Do you have to dress for work? If so, what is your “uniform”?
2. How would you describe your style when dressing for yourself, rather than work?
3. I have noticed that there seem to be two kinds of dressers in the winter months. Those who love turtlenecks and those that abhor them! Which are you?!
4. It’s lounging time on the couch in the evening. What are you wearing?
5. Describe your favorite “feel good” outfit!

I don't have to dress for work. I used to wear a Zellers golf shirt, black pants and shoes everyday when I worked at Zellers. I still don't like wearing black and red together since then. But, I have all the black pants leftover and red is my favourite colour. So some days I do it anyway, out of limited options. I can wear what I like to work these days. Not office work where I have to dress up and buy a new wardrobe each season.

Pretty much the same for work or days off. I wear what I like, comfortable and warm clothes now with it being cold. I bought a new shirt which is a nice shade of purple and very comfortable, made of a towel-like fabric. The only problem is that it got pilled up balls of lint the first time I washed it. So now it is more of an at-home shirt than a going out anywhere shirt. But that is ok. It's lovely and warm for the evenings at home sitting here on the computer.

I can't wear things which creep up on my neck. I have asthma and it just makes me feel uncomfortable to have anything too close around my neck.

I don't usually lounge on the couch. I watch TV in my room while sitting at the computer. I usually change into my nightie and warm housecoat and thick socks so I don't feel cold. My housecoat is thick fleece with a red and white snowflake pattern. My socks are pink but getting worn out. I need new lounging socks. The nightie right now is deep red, I don't need to get dressed for work yet so I haven't, yet.

It's always something red. If I'm having a yucky day I wear red even though I don't want to at the time. It perks me up and makes me feel attractive even if I was feeling like an ugly blob when I first walked out the door. Having the right kind of boots helps too. I need to find another pair the old ones are about finished. I'm just not a clothes shopper.

Friday Fun: Money, To Have and To Hold

From the Friday Fun meme:
1. If you were to get a unexpected windfall, what is your first thought on what to do with the money? Were you practical or not?!
2. You have $1000 to spend on yourself. What do you buy? With $5000?
3. You have $1000 to spend on something for your home. What do you buy? With $5000?
4. You have your windfall and you realize your car is older than you. So what do you buy?
5. You decide to buy some books with your windfall at Amazon. What 5 books would you get?

1. Practical, I'd buy myself a house, maybe a condo downtown or a comfortable little place in some smaller city.

2. With a $1000 I would take a trip somewhere in Ontario for a week. Rent a car and stay in nice hotels and motels. With $5000 I'd go across Canada for a month.

3. I can't think of anything I really want for the home. Maybe someone to clean it. Or an organizer to help get rid of clutter and find some of the things packed away from all the moving I seem to never see the end of.

4. I'd probably buy a Toyota Camry, they seem reliable and aren't too big or too small. My Mother bought a '93 new and it is still running well and has been driven a lot. They're good on gas and the new ones come in nice colours too.

5. I'd buy some books about web design, some fiction and keep the rest on a gift card to spend when ever I had time to go browse and saw something that caught my interest. I wouldn't use Amazon, I like Chapters.
