Today on the radio I must have had CBC on. They were talking about marketing. Kind of an interesting topic. I like the science behind it. Not so much the results.
Anyway, an interesting quote (which I don't have word perfect): "People don't want to be targeted, they want to be understood." This was in reference to ads being targeted to groups of people. It was an interesting discussion.
I am away at Alliston. On Monday, very early, I will be taking my brother and Mom to the Toronto airport. I found a ghost town, Ballycroy, which is not very far from here and I could go there and see what I find for photos on the way back here.

Ohh! Ghost town! Can't wait for the pics.
I will look forward to seeing the photo's when you return...
We have a new post up as well if you want to stop by, it's a bit 'sharp'!

Not sure how much I will find in the ghost town. The foliage and humidity will be a killer for my asthma. But I am going! :)
Is it a real ghost town? How cool! I hope there are good pics to be had.
Say hi to the ghosts for me! Too cool indeed.
The ghost town was disappointing. I did find it at least. Will post about it soon. Not much to show for it in photos.
I'm wondering how I could be targeted at all, since I don't fit into any of the usual "target groups." Female 47, like rap and the UFC, loves nature and shopping for sparkly things. It's not a very tidy package. ;-)
I think that is what the quote meant, more or less. In targetting a group they were missing most of that group and leaving people feeling they were not individuals. It is better to focus on understanding and listening to people and finding out what they all need. Letting them feel heard.
