Steve Irwin: The Crocodile Hunter Died

I was sad to hear that Steve Irwin had died today or yesterday in Australian time zones. He was 44 and left behind a lovely wife, 2 children and a world full of animals. He cared about the wildlife and the environment. I think I most remember him from The Crocodile Hunter when he was chasing after stray/ feral cats, trying to keep them out of the Australian ecosystem. Best wishes and thoughts to his family.

I am optimistic globally. So many scientists are working frantically on the reparation of our planet.

I believe that education is all about being excited about something. Seeing passion and enthusiasm helps push an educational message.

My belief is that what comes across on the television is a capture of my enthusiasm and my passion for wildlife.

When I talk to the camera, mate, it's not like I'm talking to the camera, I'm talking to you because I want to whip you around and plunk you right there with me.

Yeah, I'm a thrill seeker, but crikey, education's the most important thing.

Steve Irwin's Biography is available on the site where I found the quotes. His site, The Crocodile Hunter is not loading today, likely due to a lot of web traffic.

Someone should have kept track of how many times he was bitten, scratched and knocked over by his beloved animals and never once became angry with any animal. He set the bar for TV show explorers and teachers of animal life and it's awful high.
When I first saw him I truly though he was crazy and never changed my mind as he tried so hard to make us understand and care about animals as he did.

He was a good man, the kind of guy I'd like to have hung out with, absolute fun.
